Congratulations!! Your newborn baby should be seen in our office 2-4 days after being discharged from the hospital. Please call our office on the day of discharge to arrange a newborn checkup.
Please bring insurance cards and any paperwork given to you in the hospital to your first visit. Remember you only have 30 days to add a newborn to your group insurance policy and you must call your insurance company to add your newborn.
We offer breastfeeding support and counseling in our private lactation suite. Please let us know if you would like an appointment!
Our newborn care services include:
- Daily newborn examinations during the hospital stay.
- Addressing common health issues, such as jaundice, breastfeeding, risk of infection, poor feeding, and general health of the newborn.
- Giving special attention to the needs of premature babies born 35-37 weeks.
- Monitoring for the completion of routine hearing, congenital heart disease, and newborn metabolic screens.
